SPECIALTY GROOMING

Service Description

The Specialty Grooming service is a full grooming appointment, tailored for specific and unique grooming needs, which must be selected as an add-on during service selection: Mobility Assist | +$30 | We'll make sure to have an extra pair of hands in the studio to provide extra care (i.e., lift into tub) in handling pups who experience difficulties associated with grooming due to mobility limitations from age, medical conditions/disability, or injury. Grooming Training | + $40, +30mins | For pups who're new to grooming, or those that are uncomfortable with the process due to negative past experiences, this training is shaped around what yours needs most. A session might centre on gently earning trust around sensitive spots — having paws touched or the face handled. The added time allows for an extended adjustment period (breaks, treats, repetition) focused on desensitization and creating positive associations with the grooming environment, tools like clippers and dryers, and full-body handling. Please note that each pup is different, so results can vary. Training also takes time, as trust and habits are built over multiple grooming sessions. Breed Standard Cut | +$50 | For clients looking for a breed standard cut, at the quality of a show coat finish. Example breeds include: Poodle, Schnauzer, Cocker Spaniel, etc. Long Coat + Hand Scissor | +$60, +60mins | For pups that want to maintain a long coat (>1"), which requires hand scissoring for the entire groom (i.e., no clipper used for body haircut). Example breeds include: English sheepdog, Standard Bouvier, Afghan, etc. *May not be possible if there's matting* the Specialty Grooming service will be booked in exclusively with Nova, due to the higher degree of difficulty and skill required for each of these services. Base Rate is charged according to size: Toy (<10 lbs) | $130 S (10-25 lbs) | $150 M (25-45 lbs) | $180 L (45-70 lbs) | $200 XL (70-100 lbs) | $230 Giant (>100 lbs) | $250
