My Story
Hej,
I’m Nova, the head groomer and owner of BjörnBear.
I was born in Stockholm and spent the majority of my childhood and teenage years in the Swedish countryside.
With my best friend Dexter, the cutest Portuguese water dog ever, by my side, we often ventured into nearby forests and lakes brimming with wildlife. Being surrounded by nature during my formative years inspired a deep affection for all animals, and I knew from a young age that working with and caring for them would be my calling.
Arriving in Canada marked the beginning of a new and meaningful Chapter in my life.
Although it took some time to get the ball rolling; with support from my partner, and some serendipity, I was able to start my own pet grooming business! It brings me joy, pride, and satisfaction every day, because I’ve realized my aspirations of working with animals as a profession.

BjörnBear, named after our Bernadoodle, is a pet grooming studio located in downtown Toronto (Little Italy), offering high-quality, in-home grooming services to local residents.
Our mission is to foster a comfortable, stress-free, grooming environment, akin to a pet’s own home. Our fear-free, gentle handling approach to grooming has earned the trust of our clients and their furry friends, establishing ourselves as the best rated dog grooming studio in Toronto.
We blend the comfortability and familiarity of a home with the grooming quality of a professional studio. All pets are able to enjoy a completely crate/cage-free experience, as we never overcrowd our studio space. From start to finish, every pup receives one-on-one care. We never rush an appointment and allow pups to take breaks and play in our fenced-in backyard, directly accessible from the studio.
We also offer dog walking services, so come for a stroll with Björn in the neighbourhood!
